Two interstate travellers have gone missing in remote Central Australia where they have not been seen since Monday, Northern Territory police say.
Yasemin Aslaner, 49, and Elias Awad, 22, were last spoken to by police on Monday at the Kulgera checkpoint just north of the South Australian border.
Since then the pair have not been in contact with family or friends, who have now alerted police.
It is understood the travellers, who are believed to be in a gold-coloured Nissan X-Trail with Victorian registration 1MG4BQ, failed to arrive at their next planned destination.
Police say they hold concerns for the travellers because it is unknown what provisions they are carrying or what experience they have driving in the outback.
Police have urged anyone who may have sighted the vehicle or have knowledge of Ms Aslaner and Mr Awad’s whereabouts to call 131 444 immediately.
